Leah Borromeo est journaliste, réalisatrice et artiste interventionniste. Avec plus de dix
ans d’expérience dans la télévision au sein des équipes rédactionnelles, elle a développé en parallèle une pratique documentaire. Son œuvre renvoie à l’espace public et privé, aux architectures sociales, à l’environnement et s’efforce de montrer en quoi le journalisme est un art.
Elle dirige en ce moment ‘The Cotton Film: Dirty White Gold’ (le Coton, Or Blanc Sale), un long métrage traitant du suicide chez les fermiers indiens et de la mode qui dissèque la chaine de production du prêt-à-porter. Elle travaille aussi sur ‘Climate Symphony’ – un projet sonore qui développe des récits à partir de données scienti ques faisant référence au changement climatique. Des instruments de musique sont attribués à chaque datas créant des symphonies musicales et narratives.
En plus de proposer de courtes interventions qui documentent et occupent les espaces réels, elle a également réalisé une série de court-métrages sur l’activisme artistique.
